For instructions on how to change the images with your own images, go to:

    roam2rome.com/p/tablet-desk-theme.html

Also, find “tablet desk” theme on this site, which also has a similar header code and 20 comments, which might help you customize this theme.

    Happy blogging…

    @Roam2Rome:
I an new to Blogging – I like your Clean Elegance design. I want to use it for our Company Blog – changing the pictures to plastic card designs. I downloaded the files. Then tried to add to my new Blogger account. If appears it will only accept their limited designs. Any suggestions of of better approach. Do not mind paying for a host.

..you should be able to change the images in the menu just fine.

Maybe open “new post” as if you were going to write a post and upload the pictures. Click view html. Copy the image links from the post.

Then paste these links to the code where it says something like “paste image links here”

    You’re done :)

My present problem is using your design template on Blogger – It only appears to accept the few they have available. I am not stuck with Blogger, I can open an account elsewhere, suggestions welcome. But if possible I have opened a Blogger account.

    Reply to Roam2Rome »

Yes, initially it only gives you a couple options. THEN, you go to lay-out, edit hmtl, and upload the theme file… you’re set.

You don’t have to have hosting or have another account anywhere. This is a blogger template.

    Happy blogging :)

    Hi Rome2Rome…

I’m trying to figure out how to include the text in my header pictures! I checked out your blog, but it does not say how to do this specifically!!

    Thanks in advance!

how do i add another header picture like your blog instead of using the ori title head?? roam2rome.com

    thanks

  19. Roam2Rome 24 June 2010
    Reply to Roam2Rome »

To include text in header pictures… you have to do that yourself in a picture editor!

To add a header picture… it’s easy … just add it through blogger. Change your layout settings.. upload picture, like you would for any theme.

I love this layout! I’m trying to get the color of the blog background to change from white to gray – but I can’t seem to find where in the code I can do that?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

The blog posts are actually image based… which was needed to round up the corners and add shadow effects.

In order for me to divide each post separate from the rest there are 4 images that make up the blog post.

You’ll need to right click on top line, footer line, background, and the dividing line, and SAVE each image to your desktop.

Then with an image editing program (even a simple one as Paint will do) manually change the color, or the image itself, to however you want.

Then you have to upload the images to your blog, like you did the header images, and replace the link where ever you find those 4 images.

Thank you so much – I was able to change it – I will send you a link when I’m done and I love the design!

I have one more question – am I able to add more pictures/tabs on the top – I would like to have 8 instead of 6?

    Thanks Again,
    Nicole

  23. Reply to Victoriya Camilleri »

Will it be with the other colors? I still try to change it by my self, but I did not manage. :(

  24. Roam2Rome 3 July 2010
    Reply to Roam2Rome »

That’s great Nicole, and, yes, you can have more than 6 pictures on header.

The instructions are already on “tablet desk” theme on this site, too, and I might have them on the blog, too, I think. I’m finger typing on my iPod right now, so I won’t write them again, but I know it’s been covered before…

You’ll do fine adding more pics :)

Vuctoriya, look through the theme’s code and copy ALL the image links (jpg or png) and paste each one on your browser and save to your desktop. You can then change what ever you like to the design! Color or anything, and upload each image again, and paste the link exactly where you found it… that’s all.

Awesome! I was able to put more images – thank you so much.

Also – I was wondering if it’s possible to change the color of the font on comments – or the background behind the comments?

And for some weird reason – I changed the header ‘EXTREME INDIE BLOG’ to black – but on some of my links – it’s still white? Not sure if I missed something in the code?

Thanks again for all your help!

    Hi there,
I was wondering if you could help me out? I am using your Clean Elegance and I want to make my blog posts shorter with a link to “more…” so that it will load faster and it can open in a separate page. So basically, I want to shorten the length of post area.

    Can you help?

    Thanks!

Yes. I guess blogger is calling it “after the jump” code.

BTW, I just released version 2 of this theme with a few code changes based on feed-back. So. Look for that in this site within a day or two.

Meanwhile, you can get info on how to do that by following this Google Groups tutorial: google.com/support/blogger/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=154172

    It explains everything.

    Hi Roam2Rome

I was just wondering if there was any way to change the number of images from 6 to 5. Searched through your website and could not find much.

    Assistance would be greatly appreciated.

  31. Roam2Rome 22 July 2010
    Reply to Roam2Rome »

Yes, yes. I think we answered that on the thread over at “Tablet Desk” that uses the same header code…

Step 1… You’d delete the #Kwich .opt6 link that appears TWICE (at the start of the code, and below. Where you inserted your images, and your links). Or add an .opt7 .opt8, etc. if you want more.

Step 2… Then on #kwick .kwick Width…. multiply the value by 6, and divide by the number of images you want = new pixel settings.

What Step 2 does is calculate how much space each picture should take when they’re “closed”. If it blinkers or disappears, reduce by a pixel or two.

BTW…. there’s brand new code for this theme. It’s updated. Should appear on this site soon.

Well, I actually took the time to make a very significant update for this theme, and some design changes, and gave it twice to Btemplates to post.

Btemplates has not posted it, and does not reply to my emails. At all. It’s been a month.

So I cannot continue to offer support for this version, when the code changes were made for all of you already…

  36. Roam2Rome 30 August 2010

    Hi Alex…

I DID fix the “older entries.”

There were Bloggers changes, and so I made the fix. It’s in the Clean Elegance 2.0 theme release, which Btemplates never posted here, and never replied why they don’t post it for all of you to have.

So. Like I said above, I stopped uploading themes to this site.

    }

    4. Save (i prefer if u could preview first, before u save.)
