What should I do to get included on the “Template Designers” section? I see people there with less than 20 templates :( I am a template designer! I never convert, I always design my own templates!

i like this templates but i would like to change the image of the header. how to do it?

↩ Reply
Dad2.0 13 September 2009 at 9:49

it’s a bit tricky considering the header is made up of 2 separate images. You’ll need to first grab both then make your adjustments. You will need to upload your adjusted images to your own server and update the HTML template to point to these new images.

please, someone can tell me the name of some templates that have the menu bar (post, comments, edit, home) editable via layout (like this template) and not in html code? thank you!

The image in question here is “http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jA-SP6SAtfY/SoTwlBOEvnI/AAAAAAAAAEw/AvLbCoFnvvA/s1600/bg_header.jpg” you can right click the image in any browser and save it so you can alter it. This is not a ‘template’ change and requires some knowledge of Photoshop to alter it.

Once you make the change to the image, you need to save it for the web and upload it somewhere you can link to. You won’t be able to post it back to blogger so you’ll need another solution. If you have your own domain, you can just link to it like this: “http://mydomain.com/images/bg_header.jpg”.

After uploading it, go to customize–>layout–>edit HTML and do a search in the code for “http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_jA-SP6SAtfY/SoTwlBOEvnI/AAAAAAAAAEw/AvLbCoFnvvA/s1600/bg_header.jpg”. Once you find it, change it to your new location and you should be good to go.

I recommend you don’t tweek any copyrights or credits on the page even after altering.

thanks so much for the help. LOVE the template and will definitely keep the credit there on it, of course.

also, for the static pages at the top (comment RSS, Rss Feed, etc) can you change those after you download it to be titles/pages you want . . . like “About” or “Favorite Posts” or “Favorite Books” etc. Or do you have to have the four categories already set up?

thanks so much for the help. this is for a personal/professional writing blog. And i have only before used the generic templates blogger puts out. thanks!!!

and how can I change the color of the blog title?
I’ve do this : Layout -> Fonts and Colors -> Blog Title -> (the color)
and change the html code into this :

but the title’s color didn’t change
I’ve already read the FAQ but it didn’t help me at all

Chiaki: There is a link gadget above the header gadget. Add your links there ;)
Some templates, like this, don’t include variables to change fonts and colors. You would need to change them by yourself (you need basic knewledge in CSS).
