how can I add photo in slider?

↩ Reply
Claudia 17 February 2011 at 14:25

@Kel: Go to Design/Edit HTML and find this code:

   <div id='slider'>
<ul>
<li><a href='#link'><img alt='Post 1' src='#image'/></a></li>
<li><a href='#link'><img alt='Post 2' src='#image'/></a></li>
<li><a href='#link'><img alt='Post 3' src='#image'/></a></li>
</ul>
   </div>

You must replace #image

Hi Claudia,

To replace or add photos in the slider, what do you replace the #image with? Thanks.

Hi Claudia,

Nevermind answering my previous question. I do have another one however.

I just redesigned my photography blog, using the Glamour XML template. At the top of the blog are the following pages: HOME, POST RSS, COMMENTS RSS, and EDIT. I would like to rename these pages to HOME, MY GEAR, MY BLOG and activate the pages.

When I click on the POST RSS AND COMMENTS RSS, nothing happens. When I click on EDIT, I’m taken to the template designer’s blog. Very strange. Can you tell me how to rename these pages and activate them? I know I will have to edit the HTML code. I’ve gotten quite an education lately on how to do that. Not easy stuff.

Thank you so much.

Blessings,
Judy

Hi Again,

How come the pages widget doesn’t work with this template? I’ve tried countless times to add the pages widget that blogger supplies in the design page, but this doesn’t work. Can you help with this? Thanks.

Judy

Claudia 21 February 2011 at 16:18

@Judy: This template does not include a PageList widget. So, you must replace the top links by yourself. Read more in our FAQ

Hi, I love the template template, but whenever I create a different page, it shows the same content as the home page. I want to have different other pages which has different content from the other pages. Please help. Thanks!

Biyan 7 March 2011 at 6:05

Mitch, Gemma, Judy : Download the last update of this template here. “Page” should work properly now.

Aazz, Tory, Leezaienwani, Maria, Kel: Please read the “Read Me*doc” file. This file written in Ms.Office.Words, It’s required that software to open it.

Liyana: Check the “Live Preview”. If that gadget work properly, that’s mean there’s something problem with your blog, your installation process, etc.

↩ Reply
Judy 9 March 2011 at 11:33

Thank you Blyan!

The only issue I have with downloading the latest version of the template is that I’d have to re-do everything I already did like placing the photos in the slider, renaming the sidebar features and re-doing the text in the biography section of the template, which I call Discovering Digital.

I have a question though:

1. How do I place a photo in the biography section of the template? I know you can type in text within the HTML code, but how do you insert a photo? I saw this on someone else’s blog. Thanks.

Judy

Judy 9 March 2011 at 11:36

Hi,

One other question: How do I move the slider down just a little bit to make room for the title of my blog?

Or, how do I reduce the font size of my blog title in the HTML code?

Thank you,
Judy

↩ Reply
Biyan 12 March 2011 at 22:57

A. How do I place a photo in the biography section of the template?
1. Make new post through “Posting” menu (upload your image and write your text there) *you do not need to save or publish it*.
2. Open “Edit HTML” mode that appear besides “Compose” mode.
3. Copy all code/text there.
4. Paste that code/text on “biography section”.

B. How do I move the slider down just a little bit to make room for the title of my blog?
Go to “Template Designer” menu + Open “Advanced” tab + Scrool down to find “Add CSS” section, then paste the following code:

#containerSlider {margin-top:30px}
Just change the “30” by another number. The more it size, the more it space.

C. How do I reduce the font size of my blog title in the HTML code?

Go to “Template Designer” menu + Open “Advanced” tab + Scrool down to find “Add CSS” section, then paste the following code *again:

#header h1 {font-size:20px}
Just change the “20” by another number.

Hi,

Very nice work. Could you please answer the following.

How do I auto resize the images on the slider? Currently the images are getting chopped at the bottom.

I tried adding width/height to the image url, also tried changing the CSS values to have max height and width. Both did not solve my problem.

Thanks,
Vinay

Thanks!

Alex 28 April 2011 at 8:49

I figured out how to make the images show up…for others wondering you do what Biyan said about how to put a picture in your bio area, but instead of copying the entire text just copy the code after

catch(e) {}” href=

it will be a http:// hopefully that helps someone else figure it out a bit quicker than i did!

Wonderful layout. I absolutely love it and thank you so much for the informative doc on changing the Biography & images. I do have one question that I can’t seem to find the answer to, however. What size do the photos need to be to correctly fit the image slider? Thanks in advance. Again, amazing template. I love it!

@Maria Tang: Go to “Edit HTML then located the following code:

<b:if cond='data:blog.pageType != &quot;item&quot;'>
<style type='text/css'>
#header-wrapper {
background:none;
}
.main-title {display:block}
.post-body, .post-header-line-1, .post-footer {
display:none;
}
.post h3 {
font-size:12px;
padding:0;
margin-bottom:-10px;
text-transform:uppercase;
border:none;
}
</style>
</b:if>

Delete it.

Hi Biyan,
Thank you for the template. It is awesome.

I have some questions about customization of color on the template:
1. How to change the color of the box for the home on the top right corner from purple to red?

2. How to change the color of the button box on the slider from purple to red?

It is because my theme color on the blog is black and red.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

When I visited my blog today, I noticed that the left and right arrows on my slider were missing and the photos are no longer scrolling. I never did anything to the html code. The slider was working fine yesterday. Is there something wrong with blogger? Why would this happen? Thanks.

Judy

Madelene 26 September 2011 at 8:04

Hi,
this template has worked perfectly fine, but I noticed something strange the other day.
When I’ve made a new post and want to view larger versions of the images in the post, they end up in a new window, although they used to appear in the same page in a kind of “mini-gallery” that enlarged only the images in the chosen post… How do I get the minigallery-thing back?

↩ Reply
Biyan 26 September 2011 at 10:03

@Madelene: A few days ago, Blogger launched a new feature, called lightbox (image zoom). And now it’s features may be eliminated or repaired. Easy come, easy go! who knows.

Amazing Template! Great work! It took me a while, but i finally figured out how to customize it just the way I want. I still have a few questions though…

-Is there any way to view all the blog posts on one page, perhaps a link?

-When I create a blank page, The Welcome ( Biography) text is still there and the content is on the left column. Is there anyway I can delete that?

-When your on a blog post, the content blog posts disappears on the left column. Is there any way this can stay there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks again!
-Matti
